I decided to plan all of my content in the format of a mind map. This way, I could easily analyse & interpret all of my ideas, ensure that they will work logistically and will also be fluid in the order. I highlighted key areas of my project including more nuanced areas like representation of ethnicity & gender, which is indicative of how I plan on challenging the negative stereotypes around Afro - Caribbean women, especially. The mind map helped me to kick start my ideas and lead me to create an effective plan, outlining the aims of my final product.

In this prezi, I have displayed my analysis of Lauryn Hill's 'Doo Wop'. I found that this video takes on a narrative style, but again is a hybrid with integrated scenes of performance. Moreover, this is clearly a key genre characteristic. Again, the narrative of the contrast between black culture in the 70s and the 90s is very central to the production, rather than any contradicting visuals. Unconventionally, Lauryn doesn't feature much in the video herself, instead the encoded meaning is more important.
